At Wakesurfing Is Not A Crime, we advocate for responsible wakesurfing on all waterways. Our priority is to ensure a safe and enjoyable wakesurfing experience for all. Here are a few general rules to follow when wakesurfing or wakeboarding.
Minimize repetitive passes
To help maintain a positive relationship with lakeside homeowners, you should minimize repetitive passes along the same shoreline. After a few passes of any given shoreline, consider taking a break or exploring another area to continue your wakesurfing adventure. Let’s work together to protect our favorite activity for years to come!
Keep music at a respectable level
It is important to remember that some individuals prefer a serene and tanquil on-water environment. With advancements in marine audio technology, stereo systems have evolved to be louder than ever before and it is important to remember that sound travels quickly and can disturb nearby homeowners. While it's tempting to crank up the tunes, it's crucial to be considerate of others by adjusting the volume based on the time of day and your surroundings. By respecting the preferences of others and being mindful of noise levels, we can collectively provide a wakesurfing experience that everyone can enjoy.
Stay at least 200ft away from shore
To promote responsible wakesurfing, we encourage you to surf in the middle of the lake whenever possible. This helps minimize the potential damage to shorelines and ensures a safer environment for everyone. Remember to keep a minimum distance of 200ft from shore at all times when wakesurfing and steer clear of parked boats and smaller watercraft. By following these guidelines, we can ensure a safe and fun experience on the water!
By following these three core principles, you will help preserve the natural beauty of the waterways and ensure a responsible and considerate wakesurfing experience for yourself and others!
